Etymology: Zuul from Zuul the Gatekeeper of Gozer, a fictional monster from the 1984 film Ghostbusters, crus Latin for shin or shank, and vastator Latin for destroyer, in reference to the sledgehammer-like tail club.

Zuul crurivastator is an ankylosaurine dinosaur from the upper Judith River Formation. It lived during the Late Cretaceous, so it had possible interactions with North American predators of that time such as Tyrannosaurus, Troodon, and Deinodon. It also may have interacted with the Diabloceratops, so it would be reasonable to show them sharing an ecosystem in the game. This new species of ankylosaurine is one of the best-preserved dinosaur skeletons found in North America to date.

The holotype specimen, discovered by Victoria Arbour and David Evans, notably has a complete skull and tail club (pictures below).
